Interior second floor walls were completed today. Yay! We also got the rest of our soil moved around the house so now it won't be such a muddy mess it the backyard.

Second Floor Interior Walls and Sheeted Garage

So today it started out kind of snowy but workers persevered and got much done. Here is a cute picture of the cat stretching out on the trusses. Also, the grade seven kids have made a lot of progress in the snow department. Becky told them she would put their picture on the blog but I don't have their parents' permission to do that. Here's a picture of what they've done.

Passed!
G'rage
So a bunch of work was completed on the garage today. It is difficult going b/c there is a mound of dirt in the middle of the garage. Also causing trouble is the fact that the entire backyard is a total mudhole. It's difficult to lay out a wall when there's no flat space but they are doing a great job.
The basement diggers have cleared a lot of snow and that's great b/c it means I don't have to do it!

Garage and Cat
So the the dormers and their knee wall got built today. Then Trevor and Kealan started working on the garage (or car-hole, whichever you prefer). I have to admit that I'm pretty stoked about the prospect of a two-car garage for our two cars! I think it will also have some room at the front for a workbench and stuff. I'm glad we have such excellent builders.
I'm also posting some pictures of a cute cat that has stolen my heart. This cat was hanging around a lot when we started building and then he disappeared for a couple of weeks. I was surprised at how upset I was about it. So when he showed up a few days ago I was pretty excited. We've been asking around and apparently he doesn't belong to anyone so who knows…

Über-Progress!
Well, after a couple of days off Trevor and Beck are back with a vengeance! They got three walls built, sheeted, and put up. You can also see the view of the Sweetgrass Hills from our master bedroom. The last picture is Becky and Trevor putting up one of the four short corner walls. They're probably finishing them up as I type this. We're also paying three boys from my grade seven class to come and shovel the snow out of our basement.

Second Floor and Roof Trusses
I've been at Teachers' Convention so I've been neglecting this blog. Luckily Beck has still been taking photos. Yesterday was Kealan's last day until Monday and they got all of the weeping tile in and the trenches filled. Whew! No more snow in the trenches. Now we just have to shovel out the rest of the basement and part of the garage. Today was an especially exciting day b/c the roof trusses came! Trevor was happy because he needs to see them so he knows where to put the walls and roof. The second floor joists are all up and the floor is glued and screwed down. Today was also extra fine because our friend the cat returned after a long absence. Everyone is doing an excellent jorb! Click on the link -----> http://www.homestarrunner.com/cantsayjob.html

Shoveling. Sucks.
Arrgh! We spent the morning shoveling all of the snow out of the trench. I'm glad I don't make my living doing that. Hughson Trucking brought in a Bobcat to move the snow away from the trench and dropped in gravel to cover the weeping tile. While B. did that, we put the sticky membrane up on the exterior ICF block prior to it being backfilled.
